Three Tassie artists have taken out top gongs at the 2025 Golden Guitar Awards on Saturday night, with both sharing their love for fans in thanks.
Tasmanian-born Casey Barnes received recognition for his latest album Mayday in the Contemporary Country Album of the Year award.
The former Australian Idol contestant wasn’t at the Tamworth award ceremony to receive the honour, instead receiving the news as he walked onstage at a concert in Beenleigh Queensland.
“For a bit of perspective, I’m meant to be in Tamworth right now at the Country Music Festival,” he told a crowd of fans in a video recorded on social media.
“And we’ve just found out I’ve won a Golden Guitar.
“So this is my acceptance speech, thanks to you guys and thanks for supporting the album and I hope we have a good show.”
Tasmanian duo The Wolfe Brothers received the Vocal Collaboration of the Year award for their single Beer In A Bar.
The Longley-born pair of Tom and Nick Wolfe rose to fame after they came second in the sixth season of Australia’s Got Talent in 2012.
The pair shared on their social media they were “beyond excited” to bring “another Golden Guitar back to Tassie”.
“Thank you to the fans and friends who have sung this song with us around the country!” the brothers shared online.
“We love ya!”
Joking with their New Zealand co-singer Kaylee Bell on the song, Nick Wolfe joked he would send the award “over in the post for you”.
“We did it – we bloody did it,” Nick shared on Instagram.
