Mystery surrounds the diary of Bruce Lehrmann after he was spotted multiple times in the Hobart CBD, including several reports of him visiting the government Executive Building in Murray St.
The state government denied any knowledge of any meetings with ministers or ministerial staff and said there were other organisations located in the Executive Building after a number of sources who said they had seen Mr Lehrmann in the vicinity on Tuesday.
Mr Lehrmann appeared relaxed and was all smiles as he walked along Liverpool St dressed in casual pants and a business jacket, after meeting his solicitor Zali Burrows at Straight Up Coffee and Food.
The Mercury questioned Mr Lehrmann on why he was in Tasmania on Tuesday, but he responded with silence.
Mr Lehmann was later seen at a bar drinking with two others at Hobart’s luxury Tasman Hotel.
It was reported in January 2023 that Mr Lehrmann had been working at a boutique winery in Tasmania.
Mr Lehrmann has not been reported in public since he faced the media attending Toowoomba court in June over two rape allegations from October 2021. He appeared by phone on the second day of the committal hearing.
He is set to stand trial on two counts of rape before the Toowoomba District Court at a later date.
Ms Burrows would have recently flown into the state after appearing on Mr Lehrmann’s behalf in the Federal Court in Sydney last week, in his efforts to appeal Justice Michael Lee’s decision.
