Blundstone Arena is now called Ninja Stadium after new naming rights deal

Blundstone Arena is no more, as a new company jumps on the chance to put its name on Tasmania’s home of cricket.

Blundstone Arena is out and Ninja Stadium is in.

Ninja Stadium has been revealed this morning as the new name of Tasmania’s Bellerive Oval, with Cricket Tasmania confirming the sponsorship deal this morning.

In a statement, Cricket Tasmania said SharkNinja, a kitchen, home and beauty appliances company, which is strongly affiliated with Women’s sport in Australia, has aligned to Cricket Tasmania and its professional teams.

In announcing the deal, Cricket Tasmania CEO Dominic Baker said Ninja Stadium would be ‘the home of female sports’ in Tasmania.

“The collaboration between Cricket Tasmania and SharkNinja, has already been of great benefit to both parties as we look to pursue female and family friendly content at Ninja Stadium ahead of this summer of cricket,” Mr Baker said.

Ninja Stadium follows on from Ninja being named as the naming rights partner of the Ninja A-League (the Women’s A-League) last month,

Tasmanian bootmaker Blundstone was previously the naming rights sponsor at Bellerive Oval for 13 years, but the company elected not to renew its contract with Cricket Tasmania beyond the expiry date of October 1.
