Over 800 residents in five Hobart suburbs have lost power in the late afternoon on Wednesday.

TasNetworks are still inspecting the cause of the mass outage affecting Derwent Park, Dowsing Point, Glenorchy, Goodwood and Moonah, with early investigations identifying a fault in Lampton Ave.

Craft beer brewery Brewlab in Derwent Park announced it would close its doors to trade this evening because of the outage.

This comes after power was shut off for almost 850 residents in Glenorchy, Rosetta and Montrose on Tuesday evening, following a devastating $5m fire at the Glenorchy Hungry Jack’s.

TasNetworks is expected to provide an update after 6.30pm.
