SHANNON Rusca always smiles when asked about the form of his gun midfielder Josiah Farrer in 2019-20.

Farrer has been the fire lighter in Districts’ season with his run and long kicking.

“I’ve said for the past five or six years that as soon as Josiah makes the move to Darwin and trains he is going to prove unstoppable,’’ his coach Rusca said.

“That’s been proven this season with his move up here.

“It means he can train consistently and it’s taken his game to a new level where he’s now one of the top two or three players in the competition.’’

Districts’ bid for a top three finish and a third successive grand final continues at Marrara on Saturday afternoon when they meet the Buffaloes.

“The last five or six games we’ve had with them they’ve been inside a goal on the scoreboard,’’ Rusca said.

“We hope the pendulum swings our way doing what we do best by working hard and grinding games out.’’
