Zobeideh Ramezani, 43, of Holden Hill, appears in court charged with blackmail
The identity of a woman accused of weaponising false police reports in an alleged blackmail scheme to net cash payments has been revealed.
A northern suburbs woman can be revealed as the person allegedly responsible for threatening to submit false allegations to police against a man if he refused to pay her money.
Zobeideh Ramezani, 43, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday where prosecutors confirmed they would be proceeding with two blackmail charges against the Holden Hill mother.
Ms Ramezani is yet to enter any pleas, but defence counsel told Magistrate Patrick Hill negotiations had begun.
Police previously alleged that, in mid-August, Ms Ramezani demanded money from a man and threatened that if she did not receive payment, she would report false allegations against him to police.
The victim paid the money to Ms Ramezani but was allegedly threatened a second time, police said.
Police said the alleged victim’s money was recovered.
Ms Ramezani was initially refused police bail but, at her first court appearance, was granted home detention bail.
On Wednesday, Ms Ramezani was remanded on continuing bail to return to court next year to answer the charges.
