An “ultra-luxury” cruise ship has sailed into Aussie waters for the first time and made port in Darwin.
The Seabourn Pursuit will collect passengers and start its first 10-day voyage from between Darwin and Broome on Wednesday.
During their trip, passengers will be given the chance to explore King George Falls, fly over the Kimberley region’s Hunter River in a chopper, dip their toes into Montogomery Reef, and relax in Vansittart Bay, Ngula Jar Island, and Freshwater Cove.
The Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners have claimed the vessel as its “godparents” and will guide travellers through cultural experiences.
In return, Seabourn will provide a donation to the community and supply pearl shells, art supplies, and polishing materials to the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation in order to drive year-round, sustainable commercial arts and crafts initiatives.
The 132-suite ship will make the journey six times from June to August.
