An iconic marathon through some of the Red Centre’s most picturesque locations is promising a capacity cohort next year – only hours after the registrations for the race opened.
Two hundred keen punters have already signed up for the 2025 Run Larapinta Stage Race – with 60 per cent of the spots for the race filled within the first 10 minutes of the race opening.
The race, organised by Rapid Ascent, will take place from August 15 to 18, 2025.
Split over four stages, competitors will run in segments through Alice Springs and the most beautiful segments of the Larapinta Trail – such as Brinkley Bluff, Standley Chasm, Simpsons Gap, and the picturesque finish line of Ellery Creek Waterhole.
“The real beauty of Run Larapinta lies in its participants,” event director Sam Maffett said.
“We always bear witness to the supportive spirit among our participants who will form connections with fellow runners that persist for years.
“To witness the continued enthusiasm from runners as we approach our 11th year in the outback is a testament to the community we’ve fostered.”
This year’s overall winner Yun Phua said the race is “awesome” with “varied and vast” terrain.
Rapid Ascent keeps a field limit of 200 runners for the event. A waitlist for those looking to participate can be found online.
