WOMEN’S Premier League ladder leaders Waratah came from behind to beat a desperate PINT in Saturday’s match of the round.

PINT led the reigning premier for three quarters of their lunchtime clash at Gardens Oval, but could not hold off a last quarter revival from their rivals.

Tahs booted 3.3 to two points to turn a three-point deficit into a 16-point win.

Their captain Lisa Roberts said the last quarter turnaround came about after some frank discussions during the last break.

“The talk surrounded whether we really wanted the win and as it was, we kicked three goals through Sue Nalder and “Aggie’’ (Jenna Singh) to get over the line,’’ Roberts added.

“But full credit to PINT, they played some desperate football through the first three quarters in what was a must-win for them in terms of finals football.’’

The Buffettes bounced back from their loss to Palmerston by thrashing sixth-placed Wanderers by 49 points.

Dominique Carbone was sensational through the middle and up forward and Tayla Hart’s three goals always had the Wanderers defence on the back foot.

Natasha Medbury and Tabitha May stood out in Palmerston’s 48-point win over Nightcliff in the battle of the fourth and fifth placed sides.

The Magpies booted seven goals to one after quarter time to move a game ahead of the Tigers and only two percentage points behind third-placed Southern Districts.

St Mary’s beat Tracy Village by 55 points on Saturday night. The Saints exploded after a scoreless first quarter from both sides, booting five goals to nothing to shoot to a 37-point lead at halftime.
