More than a dozen cutest cat nominations were received, making it a tough competition for friends and family. The results revealed that two cute kitties tied for first place. See the winners and runners-up here.
After having previously crowned the region’s cutest pooch, we thought it was high time the purr-fect companions had their time in the limelight.
Polling has now closed, and the results have revealed two adorable cats, a two-year-old domestic short hair mix and a four-year-old ragdoll mix, which wear the crown for the cutest in the region.
Rescued alongside his mother and sister, Zimmy Bean is near and dear to his owner Tracey Peterson's heart and is one of eight kitties, who are also rescues, at their home.
"His mum Lily was found by one of my co-workers, she had been left in the bush, she had two tiny kittens with her Zimmy and his sister Charlie Cotton Socks," she said.
"Once he was big enough he came home to us, Lily stayed with the family who found her, and Charlie Cotton Socks went to another co-worker, which is lovely because we all work together, so we can check in and see how they are all doing."
Ms Peterson was unsurprised of Zimmy's win, referring to him as 'the most handsome furkid in the world', who spends the majority of his time hanging out in his catio or on his cat highway.
"It's nice to see other people think so too," she said.
Four-year-old Cleo was also rescued and rehomed with Julie Lowe and her family, becoming the best of friends with her canine brother Bruce, a staffy cross kelpie.
Ms Lowe said it's Cleo's beautiful nature that makes her so special to their family, with the fun loving kitty always ready for a treat and a play with her husband Ian.
"When she knows your home from work she runs from door to door. She is dainty but runs through the house like an elephant," she said.
"Her favourite things are snuggling and getting outside time in her cat run."
