Man fights for life after smashing car into power pole at Curra

Two men have been rushed to hospital, one in a “potentially life-threatening” condition, after a crash into a power pole near Gympie.

A serious late-night crash in the Gympie region has sent two men to hospital - one in a “potentially life-threatening condition”.

Multiple emergency crews rushed to the scene on Cliff Jones Rd in Curra, where a vehicle had smashed into a power pole around 10.21pm Friday, the Queensland Ambulance Service said.

A man in his 30s with “significant head and chest injuries” was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Another man, understood to be in a stable condition, was driven to Gympie Hospital.
