Two vehicles badly damaged in collision that blocked lanes

Paramedics transported two female patients to Rockhampton Hospital after a two-car crash blocked lanes of the Bruce Highway last night.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident on Albert and Campbell streets at 8.33pm, Wednesday.
Two Queensland Fire Department crews arrived about 8.40pm with both drivers already out of the vehicles being treated by paramedics.
A 55-year-old Kawana woman and a 65-year-old Gracemere women were then transported to hospital in a stable condition.
QFD spokesman said there was major damage to both cars with one of them in the middle of the road blocking the intersection.
One of the vehicles had also collided with a pole.
All southbound lanes were initially blocked toward Allenstown.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles and the highway was reopened shortly after 9.30pm.
