Police have charged a woman over the alleged sexual assault of a child in North Queensland.
The 37-year-old was taken into custody after detectives from the Mackay Child Protection and Investigation Unit carried out a search of a Beaconsfield address on Monday.
It comes after a 50-year-old man was charged on January 15 with multiple counts relating to alleged drug and child sex crimes.
Police allege the woman facilitated in the transport of one of the man’s victims and had knowledge of the alleged offences.
The woman was charged with three counts of rape and one count of indecent treatment of a child, and has been remanded in custody until she appears before the Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
