This new mini documentary takes you inside the battle of Couran Cove - the Queensland island resort on South Stradbroke Island - just 20 mins from the Gold Coast.
A bitter feud over $24 million in unpaid body corporate levies hit crisis point when power, water, sewerage and gas was turned off two years ago.
It sparked an exodus of residents and turned off the tap of thousands of visitors to the resort.
A rare few residents remain, living completely off grid.
But they’re fighting for their financial lives after being hit with a new brutal blow - slugged a special debt levy of up to $25,000 each.
In this special investigation, the residents tell their story and we dive into what went wrong at Couran Cove - the key players and the court stoushes.
