Dramatic CCTV footage shows the moment a Sunshine Coast service station was ram raided in the early hours of this morning.
Before 2am, the front doors of a service station on Arthur St, Caloundra were bulldozed down by a white Hyundai IX35 and two hooded men rushed in.
Running over broken glass of the glass door, one man barefoot, they made a beeline for the back of the Free Choice Tobacconist at Rainbow Fuels, and reappeared with armfuls of cigarettes and other products.
The two men escaped with almost the entire shipment of tobacco products from Friday, according to employees this morning.
Petrol station employee Kylie Seubert saw the damage while driving the school run.
She said it was “disgusting” to see what had been done.
“The new owners have only had it for a couple weeks, everything was looking amazing and fresh and then these people demolish it with no care,” she said.
It is understood the products safely locked up in the cabinet behind the counter were untouched, but the tobacco delivery from Friday which had not yet been packed away had been stolen almost in its entirety.
Police claim the Hyundai car used as battering ram and getaway vehicle was stolen from a Regents Park address on March 22.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information or vision in the area around the time of the break in is urged to contact police.
