North Queensland police investigating the mystery high-profile disappearance of a teenage girl have made a major breakthrough.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed the discovery of Richmond teen Tea Wright-Finger’s blue Toyota Prado near the outback town west of Townsville on Wednesday morning.
“A blue Toyota Prado last seen with Tea Wright-Finger has been located this morning in remote bush land near Richmond,” she said.
“Tea was not with the vehicle.”
Police investigators from Townsville arrived by helicopter at the scene on Wednesday afternoon.
Téa, 19, was last seen in Richmond west of Townsville after being dropped off by a friend at the 4WD on Coalbrook Rd about 3pm on Sunday, October 16.
Ms Wright-Finger’s mother, Tracey Wright, made an emotional plea a week after her daughter’s disappearance for her to make contact, voicing serious concerns about her daughter’s safety and well-being.
In a stunning development on October 27, police revealed the Toyota Prado 4WD with Queensland registration 210-TLA was allegedly obtained “fraudulently” from Proserpine two days before her disappearance.
Police scaled back search operations four days later.
On November 16, police release important CCTV footage revealing Téa’s final recorded moments an hour before her disappearance.
