A popular cafe on the Sunshine Coast known for its Instagrammable aesthetics, bagels, and iced strawberry matcha lattes – is opening a second storefront very soon.
Sunday Coffee & Bagels has become a must-do brunch spot on the Sunshine Coast after opening a bit more than a year ago at Buddina.
The cafe celebrated its one-year anniversary in June 2024.
The speciality coffee hub boasts coastal vibes and a chilled atmosphere.
The clean interior is as Instagrammable as it gets with the chatty staff offering a selection of coffee, bagels and brunch treats.
From flat whites and lattes to batch brews and pour-overs, the menu caters to coffee enthusiasts.
It’s known for it’s speciality dairy-free and vegan-approved soft serve cold brew and the invigorating kick of a bar tapped nitro cold brew.
Sunday Coffee & Bagels became a household name on the coast for offering a strawberry iced latte and it’s strawberry and vanilla cold foams.
The cafe is also known for serving its iced lattes with a twist – they’re all made in a cocktail shaker.
The cafe was also one of the first spots on the coast to offer the Instagram-famous strawberry iced matcha.
Now the cafe has hinted it will open a second store.
While it hasn’t been publicly announced, an Instagram account has been created for it.
“Sunday Coffee & Bagels, coffee shop, coming soon to Bokarina,” it reads online.
Sunday Coffee & Bagels owner Abbie Taylor, 28, of Buddina, said she could not believe she was already opening a second store.
“We’ve only had it for a year and a bit and it’s just taken off,” she said.
“Way bigger than what we were expecting.
“The new shop will be much bigger too.”
The store will open on Bokarina Bvd, next to Wallace & Wood Artisan Ice & Speciality Coffee.
It will be walking distance from the beach, beloved Italian restaurant Bocca and a park.
“The space really fits in well with our vibe,” Ms Taylor said.
“It’s a great location and if everything goes well with the fit out we’re hoping to be open for summer.
“Still in the planning stages but hoping to open early December.”
The new store is about 75sq m while the Buddina store is 45 sqm.
“We got the keys last week and are marking it out to plan,” Ms Taylor said.
“It’s a very different layout and we will have a bar seating area which overlooks the park.”
Ms Taylor said she currently has eight locals working for her and plans to extend the team to 15 depending on how the opening of the new store goes.
“We’re very excited for what’s to come,” she said.
