Lawyers, hospital executives, university heads and former politicians and Olympians are among the faces behind Queensland’s most elite private school boards, councils and trustees.

The Courier-Mail has taken a deep dive into who runs the state’s top private schools – from Toowoomba Grammar to The Southport School, Brisbane Boys’ College and Stuartholme School – along with their qualifications and achievements.

According to Independent Schools Australia (ISA), boards or councils are responsible for ensuring high standards.
