Paraglider crash-lands on Gold Coast roof

A paraglider’s joy ride on the Gold Coast hasn’t gone as planned after injuring himself by landing on a roof.

A rescue operation was under way on the Gold Coast Sunday afternoon to extract a paraglider who landed on a roof and injured himself.

The male landed on top of a building in Canungra, inland from the Gold Coast, about 12.20pm.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service also attended the scene to help carry out the “extrication”.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said he had injured his leg from the landing but was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
