Daisy Hill, Bellbowrie: Motorcyclists die in separate crashes

Two male motorcyclists have died in separate traffic South East Queensland crashes, in a tragic end to the weekend on the region’s roads.

Two motorcyclists have died in separate traffic crashes in South East Queensland late on Sunday.

The first accident happened on Winnetts Road at Daisy Hill, between Dahlia St and Daisy Hill Rd, about 3.40pm, when a silver Nissan Murano Z50 and a yellow and black Honda Vtr250 motorcycle collided.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old Shailer Park man, was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 27-year-old Shailer Park man, was not physically injured.

In the second crash, less than four hours later, a black and gold Yamaha motorcycle travelling along Moggill Rd at Bellbowrie in Brisbane’s west left the roadway and struck a fence about 7.20pm.

The rider, a 41-year-old man from Moggill, sustained critical injuries and later died in hospital.

The police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating both incidents.
