Police are hunting for an e-scooter rider who was involved in a crash in Brisbane’s north that caused severe injuries to a cyclist on Wednesday.

Emergency services rushed to Kingsford Smith Drive at Hamilton around 3.40pm after an e-scooter collided with a bike on Lores Bonney Riverwalk.

The bike rider, a 57-year-old Hendra man, was initially listed as critically injured, but his condition was later upgraded to stable at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Police said the e-scooter rider remained at the scene for a short time, but left before emergency services arrived.

They were appealing for the e-scooter rider or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police to assist with inquiries.

The e-scooter rider was described as having a slim build, around 182cm tall, with an olive complexion, and was seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, pants and a full-face helmet with a rear-view mirror attached.

Investigations are ongoing.
