A “heritage” style home, a product of a passionate designer’s “grand vision”, is expected to sell for millions after the homeowners host their wedding on the property.

The 16ha property at 124 Austin Rd, Mount Mee, named Lorelei Manor, sports imported and vintage pieces lovingly collected by its designer Lauren Quigley over the years.

Ms Quigley and her fiance Graham Baxter have owned the land since 2016, and the home now standing upon it was a grand vision, which she had long dreamed of creating.

Ms Quigley aimed to retain the benefits of a new home while achieving the “character and charm” of a period manor.

“By combining modern elements with vintage pieces I had collected over the years, we achieved the beautiful, timeless appeal of a period home,” Ms Quigley said.

The couple has chosen the home’s Balinese gardens as the backdrop for their upcoming wedding, with views of the ocean and Glass House Mountains as well as their waterfall pond posing as an ideal setting for photographs.

“The home is perfect for catering, with plenty of places for people to stay over, and enough room for all the staff to set everything up,” Ms Quigley said.

“It was also a chance to celebrate and share this stunning home with our family and friends.

“We couldn’t imagine a more beautiful place for our wedding.”

After the celebration, the home will be up for sale with an asking price of $4.6m.

Describing herself as an “insatiable builder,” Ms Quigley said she and her soon-to-be husband are ready to move on to the “next grand vision”.

The couple hopes to find a new home to renovate, which “inspires” them to take on the project.

Ms Quigley said she would particularly miss the location of the Mount Mee home and its “spectacular views, rolling hills, and privacy”, as well as the country-style kitchen and wrap-around verandahs.

“We love having breakfast in our lovely big kitchen or on the verandah, looking out at the mountains in the mornings,” she said.

“The dining room, with its adjoining wine cabinet, is ideal for a leisurely dinner for two or twenty.”

The couple also loves spending time in the central family room, with a stone wall and fireplace contributing to its character.

Visitors adore the expansive kitchen and the upstairs guest bedroom suite.

The views, the recycled extra-wide timber floor boards, and the warmth and grandeur of the home are captivating, Ms Quigley said.
