A clothing store due to be affected by a major retailer’s bid to avoid financial devastation has been slapped with sales signs.

On Tuesday, apparel retailer Mosaic Brands announced it would shut five of its brands in an attempt to avoid financial collapse.

The ASX-listed brand planned to axe its fashion outlets Rockmans, Autograph, Crossroads, W.Lane and BeMe brands, including all stores and websites.

Mosaic Brands currently employs 4000 staff and has approximately 700 stores around Australia.

A spokesman for Mosaic Brands said it was unclear at this stage how many Queensland-based stores and employees would be affected by the announcement.

Fashion retailer, Rockmans was plastered with sale signs on Wednesday, with “30 per cent off” signs and “Now $10” tags on the majority of its clothing racks.

The popular clothing store has been apart of Australia’s fashion scene for more than 80 years, and has 118 stores nationwide.

Despite the announcement, the clothing store had plenty of customers come through its doors the following day.

Rockmans employees were still yet to find out the exact date of the store’s closure.
