A slew of high-profile Australian stars, including Teresa Palmer, George Miller, Damon Herriman, Kate Mulvany, Jack Thompson and Academy Award winner Adam Elliott, have been added to the AACTA Festival line-up, returning to the Gold Coast’s Home of the Arts (HOTA) from February 5 to 9.
Billed as a “one-of-a-kind celebration” for filmmakers, actors, and industry enthusiasts, the festival’s second year promises to be bigger and better, with exclusive premieres, masterclasses, workshops, live music, comedy, and the AACTA Screen Careers Expo.
“The festival serves as your gateway to the best in film, TV, and digital content, providing exciting opportunities to gain behind-the-scenes insights, interact with the stars, and celebrate the creativity that defines our industry and captivates audiences worldwide,” director of programming and international engagement for AACTA, Sam Buckland said.
Among the major names joining the festival are director George Miller, the Philippou brothers, creators of horror hit Talk to Me, as well as and hip-hop group ONEFOUR.
Rising talents Lee Tiger Halley from Boy Swallows Universe and Alyla Browne from Furiosa are also set for a special Actor on Actor session.
The AACTA Awards Ceremony airs live on Channel 10 on February 7, with an extended broadcast on BINGE and Foxtel on February 8. Tickets and the full program are at aactafestival.com.
