With a scorching 34 degrees forecast and a chance of rain predicted, people going to the much-loved Big Pineapple festival and athletes competing in the Blackall100 should prepare for anything.

Scorching spring weather cannot stop festivalgoers and athletes taking full advantage of this Saturday’s events.

Thousands are expected to attend the Big Pineapple Music Festival on Saturday to enjoy all the fun and games for the first time since 2021.

Alongside a strong artist line-up including The Amity Affliction, Peking Duk and Vera Blue, patrons will also be able to compete in the inaugural Great Australian Pineapple Toss.

Fabulously dressed festival goers will take a shot at the title of champion in the Best Dressed at the Fest competition.

All camping spots have sold out.

The Bureau of Meteorology currently predicts a maximum temperature of 34 degrees and a minimum of 19 degrees in Woombye.

A 25 per cent chance of rain is also shown on the forecast.

In one of their latest posts, the festival advised Facebook commenters to bring sun protection and a rain poncho to cover all their bases.

Festival goers were also urged to bring hats, sunscreen and an empty plastic bottle to fill onsite.

Sunshine Coast streets will be bustling early in the morning with athletes and supporters also heading out for the Blackall100 trail run on Saturday.

The event will host participants running 100km, 50km and 21km courses across the Blackall Range in the hinterland.

The 100km race will start at 6am and the 50km will start at 6am from Queensland Conference and Camping Centres Mapleton.

The 21km trek will start from Baroon Pocket Dam at 7am, with a bus available to pick up participants from Mapleton State School.

Tickets have completely sold out for all three races.

The Blackall100 trail run will be a qualifying event for the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run in California, US in June, 2025.
