The Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a collision that claimed the life of a motorcyclist on a country road south west of Gatton.
Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Gatton-Clifton Rd near Heifer Creek about 3pm on Friday after a motorbike and Nissan Patrol collided near the intersection with Wagners Rd at Fordsdale.
A rescue helicopter was also deployed, and there were reports that members of the public were rendering first aid, including CPR, after the motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries.
Sadly the motorcyclist, a 54-year-old Pinbarren man, passed away at the scene.
Police have closed the road as they progress their investigation and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The crash happened about a week after a 33-year-old man died when his motorcycle left the road and hit a pole at Sarina.
Of the 104 people who have died on Queensland roads in 2024, 33 were motorcyclists.
