From diapers to diplomas, these six Brisbane twins have known each other since they were babies.
The three sets of twins started at Holland Park State School together in 2010, and have now finished their 12 years of schooling, together still at Cavendish Road State High School.
Nursing lecturer and mother Cathy Carmody said the twins met when they were six months old.
“We met at the Multiple Birth Association because having twins as you can imagine can be challenging and interesting and fun,” she said.
“Twins are just different, they like to be together.”
Ms Carmody said Georgia and Sam were best friends who shared the same friendship group, talked regularly and always knew how each other were feeling even if they hadn’t actually voiced it.
Sam Carmody said he always had a competitive relationship with Georgia – but in a good way.
“I started to play AFL when I was younger and Georgia used to play netball, now we’ve switched,” he said.
“I made the state team for netball and she’s made the state team for AFL.”
Georgia said she owed much of her Aussie rules success to Sam.
“He would always beg me to go to the field with him, run with him, kick the ball with him,” she said.
Georgia said she would love to play in the AFLW but would study nursing, while Sam is interested in engineering.
But for now, the six twins are focused on Schoolies at the Gold Coast.
