The millionaire co-founder of clothing chain Universal Store who was stabbed to death in his Clayfield mansion will be farewelled at a funeral service on the same road where he was killed.

Greg Josephson, 58, was found dead inside his Oriel Rd home about 8.15pm on June 26 during a house party with to 30 teenagers at the property.

A 15-year-old boy, who was known to Mr Josephson, has been charged with his murder after allegedly stabbing him and calling triple-0.

A funeral mass for Mr Josephson will be held at St Agatha's Catholic Church, Oriel Rd, on Monday, just 150m from the death scene.

The funeral notice invited friends and family to attend.

“Loving husband to Tamra, much loved father to Benedict, Sydney, and Alexander,” the notice read.

“Treasured son to Mary and Greg, brother to Michael, Andrew, Martin, and John.”

Mr Josephson founded the Universal Store businesses with his brother Michael in 1999 and later sold the business to private equity investors in a reported deal worth $100m.

Mr Josephson, a property and retail entrepreneur, amassed a multimillion-dollar property portfolio, including the $13.9m Noosa Reef Hotel.

The Clayfield home where Mr Josephson was killed had been listed for sale on May 15 but was taken off the market a day after he was killed.

According to property data, the mansion is worth more than $5m after the couple completely renovated it into a “five-star hotel feel” home.

Mr Josephson and his wife, Tamra, told The Courier-Mail in an interview in June they were sad to sell the home but were relocating to Noosa.

Shocked friends had previously described Mr Josephson as “a gentle soul”.

“He was a nice person to be around, he was an incredibly intelligent businessman,” a friend told The Sunday Mail.

“They’re just a lovely quiet family.”

The Sunday Mail understands teenagers at the party were taken to the police station and had their phones confiscated as detectives investigated the death.

The 15-year-old was captured on CCTV behind a bin at a local cafe moments after he allegedly killed Mr Josephson.

It is understood the teen had an injury to his hand after the alleged stabbing and was taken to hospital for treatment.

His case was adjourned to September 2 and he was remanded in custody.
