Boy, 15, allegedly forced into boot, assaulted with hammer, knife at Ipswich
A teen has been charged after allegedly forcing a 15-year-old boy into the boot of a car and assaulting him with a hammer and a knife in Ipswich.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old boy with a hammer and a knife after he was thrown into the boot of a car following a confrontation in Redbank Plains on Sunday.
It is understood the alleged attack unfolded after a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy connected with a 17-year-old boy over social media on Sunday.
The group later met at a Moorooka residence at around 6pm and drove to Redbank Plains where the 17-year-old boy began making threats towards the younger boys, police allege.
Both teens then allegedly fled the car, but the 15-year-old boy was caught by the 17-year-old and forced into the boot, police claim.
It is alleged the car was then driven to the New Chum area, where the boy was removed from the boot and assaulted with a hammer and a knife.
The boy was allegedly subjected to further assaults and threats for approximately 20 minutes before he fled and sought assistance from a nearby member of the public.
Police declared a crime scene at a residence in One Mile overnight and arrested a 17-year-old Ipswich boy.
The 17-year-old Ipswich boy has been charged with one count each of deprivation of liberty, armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, wounding, torture and possession of drug utensil (pipe).
He was to appear in the Ipswich Childrens Court on Monday, 13 October.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
The 15-year-old boy was transported to hospital where he remained in a stable condition Monday afternoon.
The 14-year-old boy sustained no physical injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
