An elderly man has been arrested after allegedly exposed himself and urinating on the floor during a flight from Bali to Brisbane.
Australian Federal Police handed the 72-year-old New Zealand man with an infringement for disorderly public behaviour following the Wednesday night Jetstar flight.
Police alleged the man consumed several small bottles of wine during while on board and urinated on the floor from his seat.
The AFP officers met the man on his arrival into Brisbane International Airport.
Police said in a statement that the man appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
Police said the man was sentenced to a 12-month good behaviour bond.
AFP’s Brisbane Airport police commander Superintendent Mark Colbran said there was no excuse for this type of disgraceful behaviour.
“Anti-social or illegal behaviour is unacceptable in any setting and the AFP will not tolerate it at Australia’s airports,” Supt Colbran said.
“The AFP expects passengers to be responsible when consuming alcohol – families and other travellers have a right to feel safe.’’
