A Logan man allegedly launched an attack on police with a lever-action shortened rifle after a police chase ended at Crestmead.
According to court documents, Ashley Reuben-Milos, 32, allegedly struck five police officers before assaulting another five SERT officers after damaging a police vehicle in a stolen car on October 18.
It was also revealed Ruben-Milos was already facing three unrelated offences in Marsden in May, and was on bail for the charges when the latest incident occurred.
Police chased a stolen Suzuki Vitara around Brown Plains Rd and Grand Plaza Drive when Ruben-Milos, who allegedly carried the rifle inside the car, fired shots at the police.
The car was abandoned near Central Ct in Hillcrest before the driver allegedly fled in a stolen Kia Cerato to Bix Ct in Crestmead.
It sparked an hours-long stand-off with an emergency exclusion zone in place.
Ruben-Milos was shot twice by police and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police subsequently charged him with 34 offences, including five counts of dangerous conduct with a weapon, acts intended to resist arrest and serious assault.
Ruben-Milos has been further charged with failure to appear as he allegedly did not surrender into custody for his other charges on May 28 in Beenleigh and was apprehended under a warrant.
His matter was first mentioned last Friday in Beenleigh Magistrates Court without his appearance.
Legal Aid lawyer David Gilmore said Reuben-Milos was discharged from the hospital, but he was uncertain where he was.
His matter was adjourned to October 31 for mention.
Ruben-Milos was remanded in custody.
Queensland Police Union president Shane Prior described the police-involved shooting as “one of the most dangerous situations and incidents Brisbane has experienced for some time”.
