Qantas is to resume another non-stop flight destination important to Territory travellers - Darwin to Canberra.

The announcement comes after Qantas revealed it would have Darwin to Singapore non stop services from March 30.

The services will be welcome news for Territory holiday-makers and travel weary business people and follow hot on the heels of new services announced recently by AirAsia and Singapore Airlines.

The Qantas services were confirmed late Tuesday by Airport Development Group (ADG) which has signed long-term agreements with Qantas, securing a five-year partnership covering Darwin International Airport and Alice Springs Airport.

ADG said Qantas flights from Darwin to Singapore would take off from March 30 and flights between Darwin and Canberra from June 2025.

While the A220 will service the Singapore flights, the Embraer 190 aircraft will service the Canberra connection.

ADG said the agreements reaffirmed Qantas Group’s significant role in connecting the Northern Territory to domestic and international destinations.

Qantas currently operates flights to nine destinations from Darwin and to five destinations from Alice Springs.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with Qantas through these long-term agreements,” said executive general manager Airports Rob Porter.

“The agreements ensure the ongoing provision of high-quality aeronautical services and facilities at Darwin International Airport and Alice Springs Airport, supporting current and future aviation demand.

“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to enhancing connectivity for the Northern Territory and supporting the growth of aviation services.

“ADG looks forward to working collaboratively with Qantas to provide Territorians with improved air services to both domestic and international destinations which maintain the Northern Territory’s vital role as a hub for aviation, tourism, regional growth, and economic development.”
