Qantas’ new safety video features Litchfield National Park, NT

An Aussie airline has unveiled its newest safety protocol video, which kicks off amid the lush greenery of a beloved NT national park.

An Aussie airline’s new on-board safety video features the Top End’s lush scenery among several other rich landscapes.

The video features several Qantas cabin crew and travellers in their favourite locales across the globe.

The safety video starts with Wagadagum and Mudburra woman Louise, who said Litchfield National Park was her “magic place”.

Litchfield National Park features in the new Qantas inflight safety video, with local Louise speaking about the Northern Territory landmark.

“We all have a place that fills our heart and makes us feel safe,” she said.

The video goes on to feature New Zealand, the USA, Mexico, Western Australia, India, Tasmania, Finland, South Korea, Morocco, Italy, France, New South Wales, and Queensland as it takes passengers through safety protocols aboard a flight.

Qantas chief customer officer Catriona Laritt said the scenic views played a key role in capturing passengers’ attention for safety briefings.

“First and foremost, the video is about familiarising our customers with safety procedures and we try to make it as engaging as possible, in particular for regular flyers who might otherwise tune out,” Ms Laritt said.

“We are proud to feature our own well-travelled team members and customers, to not only deliver the safety message but also promote travel and tourism by inspiring people to explore destinations they may not have experienced throughout Australia and beyond.”

The airline will progressively roll the video out – replacing its most recent Qantas Centenary themed footage – with 75 versions in 12 languages.
