Prince Harry’s friends ‘threaten to dish out royal dirt if he spills their secrets in upcoming memoir’

Prince Harry’s friends are reportedly worried his upcoming tell-all memoir may embarrass them, and they could be prepared to retaliate if it does.

Prince Harry to publish bombshell 'wholly truthful' memoir

Prince Harry’s friends have reportedly warned him not to spill their secrets in his upcoming tell-all memoir, and have threatened to dish out royal dirt if he does.

Pals the Duke of Sussex made at school and during his military service are said to be concerned his book — in which he will recount “experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons” — will cause them huge embarrassment.

And after years of them refusing to gossip about Prince Harry to the media, they could be ready to retaliate if their fears are realised.

A friend told the Daily Mail: “It feels very hypocritical given Harry chucked people out of his friendship group for talking to the press.

“There is a fear that he’s going to reveal details of his hedonistic youth which some worry will play havoc with their careers and personal lives.”

Another told the British newspaper: “If Harry slams any of his old school and military buddies in his new book they have pledged to break ranks to tell their story.”

The Duke’s friends have apparently been nervous after their “friendly emails” went unanswered.

There have reportedly been tensions between Prince Harry and a number of his military friends after he left them off the list for his wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018 to make room for celebrity friends.

FROGMORE COTTAGE STRIPPED OF HARRY’S BELONGINGS

Prince Harry’s remaining belongings have been taken from Frogmore Cottage and placed in storage.

According to The Sun, Windsor Castle staff stripped his and wife Meghan Markle’s living quarters and bedroom after he flew back to California following the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue on July 1.

It is not known who ordered his belongings, said to include framed pictures, to be boxed up and left at the nearby castle.

But it has sparked claims Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, may never return to Frogmore and will hand the luxury cottage back when the rental deal runs out next April.

His cousin Eugenie now has the run of the cottage with her husband Jack and son August.

An insider said: “Staff from Windsor Castle were in Frogmore just days after Harry flew back to California after the statue unveiling. They cleared out his personal possessions such as framed pictures he had left behind in his and Meghan’s old bedroom.

“Harry had been staying in one end of the cottage, separated from Eugenie and her family. He stayed in his and Meghan’s old bedroom which was left largely untouched since he was last there.”

Insiders believe the possessions are to be shipped to his Montecito mansion.

Royal sources say it is “impossible to conceive” the couple will return for next year’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee after Harry agreed to pen a tell-all memoir.

Harry’s memoir is said to be part of a four-book deal that may be worth up to £29 million ($A54 million) – with the second to be released after the Queen’s death.

Harry is set to publish his explosive memoir which he vowed will examine the “highs and lows” of his extraordinary life – during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.

Industry insiders reportedly said the “tell-all” premise of Harry’s memoir, published by Penguin Random House, was just the “tip of the iceberg”.

Insiders claim the Duke of Sussex simply wants to tell his “truth” and has no intention to deliberately hurt his family.

A source told Page Six it is not the duke’s plan to abandon his family for good.

He has instead approached the book as a way to reflect on his life and correct misinformation.

However, royal insiders couldn’t disagree more, with almost all senior royals fearful of a repeat of the Oprah Winfrey interview – or worse.

One said: “On what planet does Harry think that this is not a ‘f*** you’ to the family?”

Harry said of the memoir, which is to be released next year: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

Meghan Markle will also pen a volume in the quartet of books, hers said to have a wellness theme.

British TV show host Piers Morgan – a longstanding critic of the Sussexes – hit out in a blistering rant on Twitter.

Responding to reports of Harry and Meghan’s lucrative book deal, Piers blasted: “Prince Privacy!

“What a hypocritical greedy twerp.”
