THE Darwin CBD is dazzling with vibrant colour after the iconic Knuckey St rainbow crossing received a fresh lick of paint on the weekend.

In preparation for the 2022 Pride Festival, City of Darwin livened up the faded pre existing rainbow crossing on Sunday night, adding a fresh coat of paint to remind Territorians of the events which lie ahead on the calendar in the name of pride.

City of Darwin Deputy Lord Mayor Amye Un said Darwin was the city for people and the city of colour.

“That’s not just a tagline, it’s a promise,” Ms Un said.

“We honour all people, and everyone is welcome in Darwin – the rainbow crossing is a symbol of our sense of inclusion.

“I hope as many people come along to show their support for everyone in the parade and for the 2022 Pride Festival.”
