A WOMAN at the centre of claims of a cocaine sex scandal within NT Labor ranks has refused to say whether any Labor staffers were involved.

Speaking on Mix 104.9 this morning, the woman, who was not named, repeatedly refused to confirm whether any staffers were part of the allegations when questioned by host Katie Woolf.

”By the end of that election night, I was in absolutely no state to identify anybody,” the woman said.

“So whatever evidence there is, they’re going to have to put that together themselves.”

When asked by Woolf if she could completely rule out claims a staffer was involved, the woman did not answer directly.

The woman confirmed a sitting MLA was involved in the allegations in an earlier interview on ABC Darwin.

In the interview, she also confirmed police had investigated the claims since reports of the scandal had emerged.

Police have so far chosen not to comment on the scandal despite the woman confirming they are investigating the claims.

No charges have been laid.

The NT News can reveal the cocaine use that has been alleged was contained in messages seen by the NT News.

The NT News has not suggested the MLA was involved in the cocaine use and relates to other people involved in the alleged scandal.

The NT News has so far chosen not to publish the contents of the text messages given their graphic nature, however, it is now considering publishing the contents given the government has yet to acknowledge any incident has occurred.

Ministers have told the NT News that the sitting MLA’s position in Parliament is untenable.

The NT News asked NT Police on Tuesday to confirm if it was or wasn’t looking into the allegations and reasons behind their decision.

An NT Police spokesman said the organisation would not be commenting.

The NT News can confirm it has seen text messages sent between the people involved in the scandal and confirmed the veracity of the incident with multiple sources.

A member of the Labor Party told the NT News earlier in the week that the scandal was an unwanted distraction.

“We’re into a new term of government and something like this is not helpful to what we’re trying to achieve,” they said.
