A WOMAN at the centre of the cocaine sex scandal allegations surrounding the Territory Labor Party has said her memoirs will make people squirm — but it won’t be members of Labor who are most in the spotlight.
In an interview on ABC Darwin this morning, when asked by host Jo Laverty “if there was anything else illegal” which may still come to light — meaning about the alleged sex scandal — the unnamed woman said: “When my memoirs come out”.
“And I can tell you, Jo, it’s not going to be the Labor Party that’s going to be squirming then,” she said.
“My memoirs are going to blow.”
She did not elaborate further on those comments.
Speaking publicly about the alleged scandal for the first time this morning, the woman confirmed a sitting MLA was involved.
In the interview, the woman denied that any member of the Territory Labor Party had done anything illegal, saying there was “no evidence” to show that.
The woman claimed she had been involved in a relationship with the MLA, describing him as a “sweet man”.
However, she did confirm police had investigated the claims since reports of the scandal had emerged.
Police have so far chosen not to comment on the scandal despite the woman confirming they are investigating the claims. No charges have been laid.
News of the alleged scandal within NT Labor’s ranks was first reported in the Bushranger column in the Sunday Territorian.
