Chief Minister Michael Gunner has announced he will appoint two new commissioners with the sole role of working towards the Territory’s goal of growing its economy to $40 billion by 2030.

CHIEF Minister Michael Gunner has announced he will appoint two new commissioners with the sole role of working towards the Territory’s goal of growing its economy to $40 billion by 2030.

The Territory Investment Commissioner and Major Projects Commissioner — both roles which are being created today — will be appointed with the objectives of winning private investment and major projects for the NT.

Each of the leaders will oversee teams of about 10 specialist staff from Investment Territory.

Both commissioners will provide monthly progress reports to the Chief Minister and twice-yearly reports to Cabinet.

Mr Gunner said the roles will be advertised this week and immediately filled with acting commissioners.
