TOURISM operators will have access to grants of up to $20,000 each under a new $5 million policy the CLP is proposing to kickstart the tourism industry after COVID-19.
Opposition leader Lia Finocchiaro today revealed the CLP’s tourism blueprint for the future which includes a $5 million Tourism Kickstarter Grants Fund for small tourism businesses to access up to $20,000 each for upgrades or marketing.

She said the grants would be rolled out right after the election if a CLP Government came into power.
“We want these grants to be accessible as possible,” she said.
“There are a lot of unknowns at the moment in the tourism industry and that’s why we want to give certainty to local operators.”

She said a CLP Government will also guarantee that the tourism portfolio is held by a stand alone minister within government.
“We would also create a Drive the Track Strategy to increase the drive market and improve the marketability of the Stuart Highway and other roads, including a focus on military tourism,” she said.
