ATTORNEY-GENERAL Selena Uibo has been asked to explain why the prison in Alice Springs remains without a general manager six months after the position was advertised.
Barkly MLA Steven Edgington, questioning the delay, said it had created uncertainty and inconsistency in managing a high risk environment.
Ms Uibo said filling the role was being done by the department through an “open recruitment process”.

She noted there could be “frustration” around time but did not indicate when she expected a decision to be made.
