Person trapped in well, rescue operation underway in North Geelong

Emergency services have executed a dramatic rescue in Geelong’s north, after a person and their bike became trapped nine metres down a storm water pit

A large rescue operation has taken place in North Geelong after a person and their bike became stuck nine metres down a storm water pit.

Firefighters and SES were called to Corio Quay Rd in North Geelong, near Federal Mills, at about 6:50pm following reports that a person was trapped down a well.

They arrived on scene to find a person stuck approximately nine metres down a concrete storm water pit.

Crews conducted a rescue using a tripod system and succesfully extracted the person and their bike at about 7:30pm.

Paramedics are on scene treating the person, whose condition is unknown.

Corio Quay Rd is closed.
