Mr Martin was a familiar face to many Tennant Creek residents after working around town as a delivery driver with Tennant Creek Freight Lines for more than four years.
Jack and Cathy McMeekin, from Tennant Creek Freight Lines, told the NT News they were deeply saddened to lose one of their own.
“Pyro worked for Jack and I for the last few years but before that, and always, he was a mate,” Ms McMeekin said.
“Pyro was so loved in Tennant Creek and he will be sorely missed.
“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our dear friend. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Pyro’s family, to those who knew and loved him, and to the Tennant Creek community. Rest easy mate, here’s cheers.”
Many of Pyro’s friends took to social media yesterday to pay tribute to their late friend.
“Rest in peace Pyro you will be missed in Tennant Creek, we are a town in mourning,” one person wrote.
“Oh that’s so awful. Pyro was a fantastic man. A gentleman. Always had a smile for everyone. Condolences to all of Tennant Creek,” wrote another.

The officer in charge of the major crash investigation unit, detective Brendan Lindner, said police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
“We’ve still to determine the reasons why he came off his motorcycle the way he did,” he said.
He said they hadn’t ruled out yet if alcohol was a factor.
