Ken Davies awarded the Public Service Medal

Leading the NT Governments response to the Royal Commission into child detention is one of the pinnacle moments of Ken Davies’ 42-year career in the public service. He has been awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding service to children and families.

Leading the NT Governments response to the Royal Commission into child detention is one of the pinnacle moments of Ken Davies’ 42-year career in the public service.

Starting out in 1978 as a remote teacher, Mr Davies moved to Darwin in 1999 and worked across several government departments before being appointed to his current role as the CEO of Territory Families in 2016.

He led the agency through the complex work of implementing the recommendations from the 2016 Royal Commission into the detention and protection of children in the NT.

In recognition of that distinguished service, he has been awarded an Public Service Medal for outstanding service to children and families.
