Tourists flooding NT a good thing for Darwin

Darwin is pumping and it’s great to see.

DARWIN is pumping and it’s great to see.

As the Dry season winds blew in this weekend so to have hordes of backpackers. Numbers which haven’t been seen for years.

The attraction for the thousands of visitors is none other than popular DJ Carl Cox.

His appeal attracted people north from across the country and thanks to that, accommodation is at capacity, bars are full and restaurants are doing a roaring trade.

You can feel the buzz in the air.

Hopefully some of those visitors fall in love with the Top End’s endless summer and decide to stay, seek work, and help fill our dire shortage of workers.

With a jam packed dry season forecast, this long weekend has been a great warm up for hospitality and tourism venues.

It also goes to show how valuable it is to secure international and national acts for Darwin.

This concert has had a phenomenal impact and has breathed life into Darwin.

The city has time and time again proven that we can hold a successful festival in the time of COVID-19.

It’s sets us apart from the rest of the nation and something that should be capitalised on to give our COVID-19 battered industries a boost.

We are the envy of the nation and should look to keep it that way.
