THE new intra-Territory campaign encouraging locals to get out and enjoy their backyard has been welcomed as a good first start.
The NT News has always been a passionate advocate for Territorians to get out and explore all this place has to offer.
We said as much right here in this space yesterday.

The NT Government has to give Territorians a good reason to part with their precious cash.
Particularly in these difficult economic times when everyone is being far more cautious and selective about where their money goes.
With the right incentive Territorians will spend. The Home Improvement Scheme is living proof of that.
The Darwin City Council’s current incentive scheme is another example.

The government says it is working in conjunction with our Tourism NT board and taking advice from the Tourism Rebound Taskforce on what comes next.
Now is a great time to experience this wonderful region with a wildlife experience, a scenic flight, a luxury staycation in a local hotel or a cultural tour, but to reach into the pockets of those who would not normally do this will take more than an advertising campaign.
