THE pandemic wreaked havoc on the Northern Territory’s event calendar last year, and now the government’s looking to make the most of things as all of the dry season’s biggest attractions prepare to return.
To ensure interstate travellers keep the Territory at the top of their lists when planning their next escape, Tourism NT is rolling out a new campaign nationally from today.
The advertising blitz will promote the Territory’s lively event season from the breathtaking projections at Parrtjima, to the roar of the Supercars, and the vibrant colours and culture at Barunga.
We know this virus has put the pressure on the NT’s tourism industry which is why it’s so crucial the government works hard to target that interstate market before the peak dry season rolls in again.
Many Territory businesses, not just those in tourism, rely heavily on dry season trading to keep them ticking over in the Wet. This year, Territorians won’t have a JobKeeper safety net to fall back on.
Widespread overseas travel is still unlikely for Australians in 2021, which means many people interstate will be looking domestically for holiday bookings this year.
It puts the Northern Territory in a great position to hook those holidayers in, as a safe destination with zero cases of community transmission and a chock-a-block events calendar for the upcoming Dry.
