The Territory’s best talent was celebrated on Sunday night at the 2023-24 season’s NTFL best and fairest awards.
Taking out the women’s top prize was PINT gun Jasmyn Hewett, who won back in 2020-21.
Hewett said the award came as a suprise.
“It’s really amazing, I honestly wasn’t expecting it as I didn’t have the smoothest of seasons with a couple of surgeries and missing games, so I came in with zero expectations,” she said.
“To be put alongside some of the best is super special and I’m really honoured to be honest, but individual accolades aren’t possible without the right support and right team around you.
“I’m really fortunate to have such a great team of girls, they’re incredible, we lift each other up and we want to be better for each other, I can thank them for this one.
Meanwhile a St Mary’s star went back to back to claim the Nichol’s medal again this year.
Skipper Dylan Landt stunned the crowd with his record-breaking 56 touches in a match this season and said he was humbled by this latest accolade.
“It’s a big honour, after winning it last year there was a lot of pressure put on me so to go out there and perform is something I’m proud of,” he said.
“It’s always great to win those personal awards, something I’ve been building since preseason is team success, and with us still alive this season that means a lot more to me.
“St Mary’s is home now, I came up here four years ago planning on playing one season and then heading back, but I’m still here after four seasons and it’s definitely the best footy club I’ve been a part of.”
