Latest, September 20: Loved ones of a 52-year-old man who vanished from a remote Territory town five days ago hold “grave concerns” for his welfare.
NT Police in a statement on Friday evening said despite a three-day sweeping land and air search, Tennant Creek man Maxie Graham has still not been found.
A Police spokesman said due to Mr Graham’s medical conditions, his family and the greater Tennant Creek community were concerned for his welfare.
“He is unable to walk unaided meaning he could not have ventured far from where his vehicle was located,” he said.
“(Mr) Graham has medical conditions and has not presented for crucial appointments.
“His family and the greater Tennant Creek community hold concerns for his welfare.”
Mr Graham was last seen driving from his Tennant Creek home about 6.30am on Monday September 16.
Thirty-eight hours later his silver Ford SUV was discovered abandoned 15km southeast of Tennant Creek.
NT Police have previously said there were unconfirmed reports that Mr Graham was seen hitchhiking 13km along Peko Rd, walking towards Paterson St about 6pm on Monday.
Mr Graham is 170cm tall, with a slim build and scruffy black hair and a long grey beard.
He was last wearing black trousers with a blue shirt.

Chopper deployed as missing NT man’s car found abandoned
Earlier, Thursday September 19: Northern Territory Police have found an abandoned car belonging to a man who was last seen hitchhiking in Tennant Creek.
As the sun rose on the second day of the search for Maxie Graham, 52, the search and rescue section was deployed to the area.
Local police, drone assets, ATVs, dirt bikes and a helicopter are being used to help scour the area for signs of Mr Graham.
Mr Graham, was reported to have left his home in Tennant Creek about 6.30am on September 16 in a silver Ford Territory.
According to NT Police in a statement issued on September 18, Mr Graham later walked into a friend’s house where he stayed for about 30 minutes, before leaving at 8am.
Police said there was another, unconfirmed, sighting of Mr Graham hitchhiking 13km along Peko Rd, walking towards Paterson St at about 6pm on the same day.
The Ford Territory was found abandoned 15km southeast of Tennant Creek.
He was reported missing late on Tuesday and an investigation remains under way.
Mr Graham is described as being 170cm tall, with a slim build and scruffy black hair and a long grey beard.
He was last wearing black trousers with a blue shirt.
