NT Police investigating after 30-year-old man killed in fatal hit and run on Bagot Rd

Police are calling for witnesses after a 30-year-old man was killed in a fatal hit and run in Ludmilla overnight.

A 30-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in a fatal hit and run in Ludmilla overnight.

The man was hit on the inbound lane of Bagot Road, near the pedestrian bridge, around 9.40pm and declared dead at the scene.

Police allege the vehicle didn’t stop to assist the victim however the female driver had since made herself known to police and is currently assisting with inquiries.

The inbound lanes on Bagot Rd were closed from Fitzer Dr with traffic diversions expected to remain in place until 9am.

The outbound lanes remain open but may be subject to restrictions.

Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Musgrave urged for any witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation.

“Investigations are in their early stages and detectives are urging anyone with information to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 2300010729,” he said.
