A Sydney man has confessed to sexually groping a number of teenage girls after he offered them a ride on his jet ski, a court has heard.
A Sydney man has confessed to sexually groping a number of teenage girls after he offered them a ride on his jet ski, a court has heard.
Samer Zaatar, 38 of St Andrews, pleaded guilty in Gosford Local Court on Tuesday to five counts of intentionally sexually touching a person without consent.
In early November last year, two 14-year-old girls spent the afternoon at Umina Beach when Zaatar and his friend were riding their jet skis.
The two men rode over to where the girls were swimming and asked if they wanted to go for a ride. They accepted.
Police facts state Zaatar then grabbed the back the teens neck and kissed her on the cheek then started to drive the jet ski out into the water.
The girls then swapped jet ski partners. When the other teen got on Zaatar’s jet ski, she was positioned at the front while Zaatar was at the back
He was grabbing onto the teen around her ribs with both of his arms and she could feel his arms slipping down to her lower abdomen.
Zaatar rested his hand on her bikini bottom and grabbed her thigh and after a discussion about returning, Zaatar put his hand inside the teen’s bikini bottom and touched her genitalia and then started to touch her breasts.
When the teen returned to the shore with her friend she confided in her friend about what happened and they both reported the matter to police.
About three weeks later, a separate group of friends were at Umina Beach when Zaatar rode over and offered them a ride.
A 19-year-old took up the offer. Zaatar, who was sitting behind the victim, held the victim by the shoulders first then moved his hands down to the sides of her waist.
He then grabbed the victim on her thighs and said if he tapped her on the thighs to slow down. The victim felt uncomfortable with this but accepted his reasoning.
Zaatar then moved his hands to the front of the victim’s groin area over her bikini bottoms.
The victim started the jet ski and rode towards her friends and Zaatar asked her to slow down before trying to kiss her.
Once back with the group of friends, the offender asked who else wanted a ride.
A 17-year-old then got on the jet ski and agreed to take control and swapped seats with Zaatar.
As the victim was driving the jet ski Zaatar placed his hands on her hips with his thumbs on the side of her hips and fingers were at the front, touching her groin above her swimmers.
When she returned to shore, she confiding in her friends that she had been touched inappropriately and they made a complaint to lifeguards, who in turn informed police.
On November 29, Zaatar was arrested by police. He will be sentenced in the District Court at a later date.
